In the Pokémon Direct on the 9th of January, 2020, a Video Game Remake of the games for Nintendo Switch was announced, dubbed " Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX", including features from newer games, such as Mega Evolution, which released on March 6th of the same year. The games had two separate adaptations: a 20-minute anime special based on the start of the games called Mystery Dungeon: Team Go-Getters Out of the Gate! which featured the protagonist as a Squirtle and a one volume manga called Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Ginji's Rescue Team which featured the protagonist as a Torchic.
